About
Inge Holst is an Australian multi-disciplined creative with an impressive skill-set
evolving over 25 years. Her experience encompasses design and making fashion, costume, props, furnishings and textiles at the forefront of Australian digital print technology.
Inge Holst Textiles creation expresses her creativity in two areas she particularly loves, namely decoration and interiors anchored in a rich and luxurious textile collection.
Each collection is influenced by Inge’s wide range of travel experiences and interest in the decorative arts, costume and cultural history.
Inge expressed an interest in the arts and history from a young age. This eventually lead to studying fashion design and post-graduate studies in “theatrical costume”. Inge was fortunate to be taught by Australian Opera costume legends in the form of the late Bill Patterson and Tom Lingwood.
Inge’s interests and influences are wide ranging from 18th and 19th century textiles, Victorian-era costume, history of colour, art of the old masters and her own Danish heritage.
Inge’s objective is for her textiles to enliven any room with colour, decadence and style.
She continues to blend fashion, interiors and her love of making into this unique business.
